48Sheet Project

Here are a few pics I took yesterday of the 48Sheet billboard project in Birmingham. The project uses billboards to exhibit the work of artists on the theme of cultural curiosity, and they can be seen up to the end of April.

They make a nice change to the usual adverts that line the main roads around the city, although it was risky business trying to photograph them during Friday rush hour :) There were some great images that I just couldn’t access properly while the roads were so busy but I’ll be trying again in the next couple of weeks.

Keep an eye out for them if you’re in the area! Locations can be found on the map on the 48Sheet website.

  1. Thank you :) Yeah I think that one is my favourite, though I also like the one that says ‘Tight’, ‘Rope’ with the clock hands at 3 and 9 :)

  2. Sounds like there’s a lot of photography support in Birmingham… nothing like that round here where I am unfortunately, although London isn’t that far away….

    • Yeah there are quite a few cool photo things going on around here thanks to a few people who have committed time to organising and building a web presence for local photographers. It’s a real advantage being in a city. A lot of it has come about in the last year or so and it’s nice to have meet ups and get to know others. I certainly appreciate it :)
