Bikes & Billboards
If you’re in Birmingham then get yourself along to the 48Sheet space in the Mailbox this week. There’s a whole programme of events from 48Sheet artists up to the 29 April and plenty to go look at if you just fancy a mooch around. I popped in yesterday with my camera and took a few shots shown in the slideshow below. I’ll be heading back with a fully charged camera battery next time…oops!
I particularly love Papergirl Birmingham which is a very cool project involving art and bicycles. There are some great art work submissions so keep an eye out for a whole load of cyclists transporting them around the city on 28th April. There’s also a Papergirl night on Tuesday this week at the Mailbox – they’ve won me over already with the promise of cake and Spirograph doodling :)
Papergirl Birmingham is a project that aims to open the art world into the urban streets of everyday life. It is an intervention seeking to surprise people and to heartily upturn the notable predictability of day to day life.
Via the visual spectacle of cyclists on mass, donated art works will be rolled and distributed to curious passersby populating the city streets.

Very nice indeed, Helen. I particularly like the shots of bicycle wheels and gears. Great shapes and patterns.
