The twelfth day of Christmas and time for all the decorations to be put away :(
I may just leave a few things out though…January is so much better with fairy lights :)
If you’re having a go at a 365 and need some inspiration, check out Photography Butterfly’s ultimate 365 ideas guide (printable).
Some days don’t lend themselves to interesting photos…like today. I’ve been trying a new lens out and I defo need practice as all my other shots didn’t work! Still, this is what winter’s looking like round here. Pretty dull and not a flake of snow in sight :$
I LOVE getting post and I’m lucky to have friends who like writing post to me :) I got a lovely card and letter today so I’ve enjoyed taking some time to write back.
Usually we’re away so much over the Christmas period that we either don’t have time to put up decorations, or we’re not around to enjoy them. This year I’m making the most of the last few days of Christmas and enjoying being cosy in a room full of decorations and fairy lights :)
I recently started re-reading the books from my childhood and had forgotten just how uplifting they are. Last night I finished The Voyage of the Dawntreader by C.S. Lewis and forgot what a wonderful ending it has :)
I’m trying to learn more about Photoshop so that I can get really creative with my photos, hence the addition of a couple of familiar little characters :)
Happy new year everyone!
Well it’s a new year, and I’m back with a new laptop, new camera lens and a new project :) I must be mad because I had the sudden desire to do another 365 project. I”m going to make a start and see how it goes, but it may end up as slightly less!
The first time I did a 365 I knew very little about photography, cameras, styles, processing etc but I learnt a lot as a result of it. Somehow it seems like it will be a bit easier this time. I doubt I’ll upload photos every day but instead will do a round up at fairly regular intervals. I’ll be busy running Photography Butterfly at the same time so if I’m not here, I’ll be there :)
I’ll leave you with the first photo of 2013…let’s hope it’s a great year to come! I look forward to following all your photo projects throughout the year!
Reblogged from The Photography Butterfly:
So we're approaching a new month and it's time to think about a new little photography project to celebrate December. A month of daily photos is a great way create some memories and get practising with your camera. Perhaps you're coming towards the end of your 365 project and need a few final ideas to see you through to the end of the year, or you've never done a project before and need a few ideas for starters.
Golly it’s been a while since I last posted any photos on here…I’ll get round to it at some point!
I’ve news of a new little venture which I have just started working on and would love you to follow along. This is aimed at my fellow gal photographers (though blokes feel free to follow too!). There aren’t that many general resources on the web for us general photography hobbyist girls and so I’ve created a new website called The Photography Butterfly :)
The Photography Butterfly will be used for a whole host of photography related goodness and it would be great to build up a community there. It’ll be kept nice and simple – there is so much overly technical advice on the web and I just want the site to be a simple source of inspiration for your everyday photography.
There’ll be opportunity to feature your work on there too (you can join the accompanying flickr group to submit your photos).
The site is in it’s very early stages and I’d love to hear about anything you’d like to see featured on there in the upcoming weeks.
The website can be found at www.photographybutterfly.com
There are also newly created Facebook and Twitter accounts to accompany the site.
I’ll still be posting on this site too when I get chance to take some new photos (with my shiny new f1.7 lens woop woop!).
Hope to see you at the new site!
Cheerio for now :)
Welcome to my photo blog and thanks for stopping by. If you want to follow along, click the button below to receive an e-mail every time I post a photo. I've just started another daily photo project and will try to take a a photo a day for 2013 (though it may end up as slightly less!). Older posts can be found in the archives. Enjoy :)
